Accessing Services Online

Q: How do I join on Zoom?

You do not need to book for Zoom services. Services from FRS and StoneX will be multi-access.

Details of how to join our online services can be found here.

Please note we will be using our usual zoom passwords and wont be changing them for this year's HHDs.

Q: What will the experience be like watching online?

Some of our services will be “multi-access”, which means that people can participate either on Zoom or in the physical space.  Other services will be streamed, which means that those at home can watch but not have an active role in the service.

The Vue Experience

Q: Why are we holding our Rosh Hashanah services at the Vue, North Finchley this year?

This year, there is a Rugby game on Rosh Hashanah at StoneX.  We are excited to hold our Rosh Hashanah services at the Vue which will make them more accessible, less noisy, small and more intimate. Everyone will be able to see and take part.

Q: Will we be sitting in the dark?

The services at the cinema will not be in the dark and there will be adequate lighting so you can find your seat and see the screen in comfort.

Q: How do I know what 'screens' to book for?

All the information for each screen is available here.

All of the services (except for Rhythm 'n' Jews services) will run for the entire duration of the morning so you only need to book one per person.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact the office.

Make sure you have spoken to your FRS friends and family to ensure you are booking the same screens!

Q: I like to wander between the services to meet up with different members of my family, can I still do that at the Vue?

Cinema seats are limited, so for Rosh Hashanah you won't be able to move between services.  There will be plenty of time to spend with your family during services over the rest of the High Holy Days. However, the Rythm n Jews services will only be for an hour, if those attending would like to attend another service - they will need to book into that service as well.

Q: My family members will be finishing services at different times - how will we find each other?

At the end of each service, we will ask those who are meeting people from other services to meet each other in the cinema lobby.  Everyone else will exit directly from the screens.

Q: Can I buy food at the Vue?

The Vue kiosks will be closed, but don't worry - FRS will be providing popcorn as well as the usual honey cake, apples and honey straws!

Q: Will anyone else be at the Vue?

No! FRS has booked out the whole of the Vue just for you!, but please be aware that the carpark and the rest of the space is open to the public. There may be people looking to use the leisure centre, Hollywood Bowl or even popping in for some Nandos! However, during the services and inside the Vue is all FRS!

Q: Are we being allocated cinema seats?

No, cinema seats will be available on a first come first serve basis on Rosh Hashanah Day 1- including the comfy VIP seats.

Accesibility and Inclusion

Q: Are all the venues accessible?

yes, just make sure you tell us you have accessibility needs on the Rosh Hashanah booking form

Q: Can I sit in my wheelchair at the VUE?

All venues have step-free access, accesible toilets, parking and lifts.

There will be wheelchair space in each screen, please let us know to reserve them in advance on the booking forms or by contacting Volunteer Receptionists

Q: I don't want to have to climb the stairs at the VUE in the screens.

Don't worry, there is plenty of accessible seating which doesn't require using stairs.  Please let us know your accessibility needs on the Rosh Hashanah booking form and we will be in touch.

Q: Will there be enough machzorim (books) this year?

While we wait for the new Machzorim, we have increasingly low supplies of books for the High Holy Days, so please consider downloading onto your kindle. Contact Volunteer Receptionists for more information. At the Vue, much of the liturgy will also be available on the screens.
