Turning a Mitzvah into a Relationship
At FRS we value individual differences, and we want everyone to feel welcome and part of the community. This is recognised by the accreditation from the Mayor of London that FRS is a Dementia Friendly Venue. This means that we have a building that is accessible, and volunteers and staff who are trained in dementia in its various forms.
At FRS we recognise that our members can find themselves needing a little support – maybe some shopping or someone to pick up their medication, perhaps a lift to hospital or a myriad of short-term help.
We also recognise that many members of the community are keen to offer that help. Often, it brings people together who would not necessarily know each other, and a relationship is formed that helps everyone feel that bit better about the world we live in.
You'll find much more information in the links on the top right. If you need help or wish to volunteer, please email abi.noah@frs.org.uk or alternatively phone the shul on 020 8446 3244.
Chesed also runs or supports groups you may care to join:
* Wellbeing
* Autism Support group
* Singing for Memory
* Bridge (every Thursday - see calendar)
Please email the office for more information on any of these: frs@frs.org.uk
Safety
We ask our drivers to ensure that they are fit to drive, have a current driving licence; their car is regularly serviced, correctly insured and generally kept roadworthy. Also, that they have informed their insurance company that they are volunteering.
DBS checks are undertaken where money or dementia is concerned and you are helping one-to-one.
