Shabbaton with Rabbi Dr. Lawrence Hoffman

We're delighted that Rabbi Dr. Lawrence Hoffman and his son Dr. Joel Hoffman will be joining us for a special Shabbaton this summer. Rabbi Hoffman is the esteemed author or editor of more than 40 books, is Professor Emeritus at Hebrew Union College and lectures widely across North America. Rabbi Hoffman was also the director of Synagogue 3000 and has been helping communities around the world think boldly about their leadership and vision for decades. 
Dr. Joel Hoffman is a professor of linguistics, applying modern translation techniques to ancient languages. An inspiring and humourous speaker, we are thrilled to welcome him to FRS.
We have planned a packed programme of fascinating talks, discussions, services, singing, and food. 

Friday 1 August

6.30pm - Kabbalat Shabbat with Rabbi Dr. Lawrence Hoffman.

Saturday 2 August

10.30am - Shabbat Shacharit with Rabbi Dr. Lawrence Hoffman and the FRS clergy.

12.30pm - Lunch, open to all, but catered and so MUST be booked ahead.

Booking is required for anyone attending the communal lunch and afternoon activities on Saturday 2 August.

The lunch will begin at 12:30pm, following the Shacharit service, and must be booked in advance.
Afternoon learning sessions will run from 1:30pm to 6:45pm, followed by a Tisha B’Av service at 7:00pm.

Kabbalat Shabbat, Shacharit, and Tisha B’Av services are open to all and do not require booking.

These services will be joined by Rabbi Dr. Lawrence Hoffman.

Ticket prices:
- Full day with lunch - £36
- Full day without lunch - £25
- Student and unwaged with/ without lunch - £18
