Lilian Cordell’s book, Miriam’s Table, is a culinary journey through the colourful region of Bukhara, mapping over 80 soulful and comforting family recipes that have been passed down through the generations. Yotam Ottolenghi says, it is “an invaluable record of Bukharian dishes, that until now relied on word of mouth.” Lilian will tell us about the creation of her book.
Lilian will tell her story of how her passion for her Bukharian heritage drove her to self-publish recipes that were handed down from her mum to the next generation.
4 years later Lilian continues the legacy with teaching Bukharian food, recipes, and presenting her story and promoting Bukharian culture. In the Gourmand Awards, held in Macau 2019 Lilian was awarded Best in the world for the Silk Road History.
