For 18 years, Rabbi Miriam Berger has led FRS with unwavering dedication, wisdom, and compassion. Her leadership and guidance have left an enduring impression on our community, and we look forward to marking the impact she has had on FRS. As we near the time when Miriam will step down as our Principal Rabbi, we are excited to share our plans to celebrate Miriam and her tenure at FRS.

We have curated a series of unique events, each aimed at a different part of the community, and we hope you will join us at the event that fits you. Our wonderful new building is a great home for us, but unfortunately doesn't have the capacity to hold all our members at once, so please choose the event that speaks to you most. NB: Places are limited so do book as soon as you're able to avoid disappointment.

Celebrate Rabbi Miriam with.....

Kindergarten Shabbat and Lunch

If you are one of our current Kindergarten families, current or former staff, or Alumni with fond memories of your time here, we are inviting you to join us for our traditional Kindergarten Shabbat with a special send off for Rabbi Miriam to celebrate her wonderful relationship with FRS Kindergarten.
A Shacharit to Remember
Saturday 22 June @ 10:30am
Rabbi Miriam's penultimate Shacharit as our principal Rabbi. Join us for a ruach-filled morning of prayer and blessings, followed by a celebratory Kiddush. Please book below.
Celebratory Seudah for Reception - Year 8 and their families
Saturday 22 June @ 5pm
£5 per head
Come and join Rabbi Miriam and the youth team as we fill the Ohel with fun, activities, and food! We are inviting all families with young people in Reception through to Year 8, whether you have been part of Kochavim and Massuot or not, to come and have your chance to celebrate.
Young adults pub night
Saturday 22 June @ 6:30pm
An exclusive invite for our 18-30s to celebrate their special connection with Rabbi Miriam. Whether you were one of Rabbi Miriam's first B'nei Mitzvah 18 years ago (...!), remember her taking you around Amsterdam and Prague, or loved working with her as one of FRS's Youth team, this is your chance to reminisce with Rabbi Miriam about the embarrassing things we did as teenagers. The first round is on us!
Zero Waste Gala Dinner
Sunday 23 June @ 6.30pm
Multiple ticket prices available
Join us for an elegant zero-waste fundraising dinner and an exclusive screening of Rabbiting On with Rabbis Robyn Ashworth Steen and Debbie Young Somers interviewing Rabbi Miriam. This event is intended for adult members of the community, but our teenagers should keep their eyes open for a special way to be involved.

Kuddle Up Shabbat Friday Night Dinner

Help Tevye the Torahsaurus and Judah the Lion make Rabbi Miriam's last Kuddle Up Shabbat special! Enjoy Kuddle Up and a special fish finger Friday Night Dinner to celebrate.
Special Kochavim assembly
Sunday 30 June @12pm
An invitation for all current Kochavim families to join Rabbi Miriam for her last Kochavim assembly. Booking not required.

We welcome everyone to FRS community events, and never want cost to be a barrier to participation. Financial assistance is available, please contact Cantor Zoe Jacobs: cantorzjacobs@frs.org.uk to discuss in complete confidence.

We want everyone who wishes to join our celebrations for Rabbi Miriam to be able to, whether or not they can afford the cost. If you are able to subsidise others by giving a donation, we would be extremely grateful. Please enter the amount here:

As part of our celebrations, we will be presenting Rabbi Miriam with a jar of blessings - a jar full of your messages for her to keep. Your message could be a blessing, a memory, a thank you - in whatever form you wish as it will only be given to her. You can either upload your message here, or collect a blessings sheet from our Volunteer Receptionists. Please remember this is a secret from Miriam!
