About the Arava Institute
Through research centers, trans-boundary cooperation, and a university-accredited academic program, the Arava Institute educates the next generation of environmental leaders, implements cutting edge research and on-the-ground projects which improve people’s lives.
The Arava Institute works to protect fragile shared environmental resources, eliminate conflict over these scarce natural resources and, in so doing, serve as a model for constructive peacemaking for wider areas of conflict.
The Arava Institute is building bridges between researchers and regional leaders in Israel, Palestine, and Jordan to pursue regional cooperative action to mitigate and adapt to climate change. The goal of the Arava Institute is to become a global center for applied environmental diplomacy that uses the environment to build peace in our region and beyond.
