The book Liberating Belsen Concentration Camp was written by the late Lt-Col Leonard Berney. His son, John Wood, will tell his father’s story: the drama and horror encountered by the British Army, and the heroic efforts by the liberating troops to rescue the thousands of survivors, providing them with food and medical care before their eventual repatriation.

Founded in 1840, it is the longest established costume supplier in the world, and its warehouse contains ten miles of clothes rails and 5 million items! In 2016 Angels won the BAFTA award for outstanding British contribution to the film industry, the only costume company to win this coveted award.

The area still contained a major proportion of the Jews in the world. Their story remains an important chapter in Jewish history.
